個人認為最大的賣點為 performance （效能）的改進．當然有一些是 bug 修正．對 AMD CPU及64位元 Host OS 使用者來說也是很有幫助．不用等待，載來用吧！
自己在 Windows XP sp3(32位元)及 Ubuntu 8.04 (64位元) 兩個平台都有安裝VirtualBox．在 Ubuntu 8.04上開 Windows XP guest 真的是快得沒話說．這個版本對 AMD CPU 及 SATA 都有效能上的改進，相信對AMD CPU 用戶是個好消息．
